ABOUT THE POSITION
The Nurse role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management. This role works whole hospital team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of specialist nursing care. The role provides leadership for professional practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
1) Assessing, Planning, Implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patients’ outcomes.
2) Providing appropriate healthcare services including Intergraded Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), Immunization, and Ante-natal care among others.
3) Facilitation of maternity admissions, labour progress and delivery.
4) Administer medication to patients.
5) Liaise with other healthcare staff in handling patients with multiple of complex medical conditions.
6) Providing health education and counselling to patients/clients.
7) Referring patients and clients appropriately.
8) Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans.
9) Maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care.
10) Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment
11) Collecting and compiling data.
12) Perform any other duties as may be assigned
The prospective candidate must possess:
I. At least 3 Years’ experience in a busy Hospital.
II. At least Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized institution
III. Valid license by the Nursing Council of Kenya
