Individuals and couples can anticipate and achieve their desired number of children, as well as the spacing and timing of their births, through family planning. It is accomplished by the use of contraception’s. The capacity of a woman to space and restrict her pregnancies has a direct effect on her health and well-being, as well as the result of each pregnancy.
On October 25, 2021, Marie Stopes paid a visit to Kenswed Hospital to provide family planning services to its patients. We had 30 ladies who come for the services; they provided long-term family planning options such as implants (3 years), IUDs (5 years), and female/male condoms. The Kenswed hospital provided free injections (3mths).
Women who came for the services ranged in age from 19 to 49 years old, and they were also offered guidance and counseling before being given the family planning method of their choosing.
Women benefit from family planning because they are healthier and have more equitable possibilities to seek an education, a profession, and financial stability. Families with fewer children can build more assets and spend more in their children’s health and well-being.
We advocate for women to establish a birth plan in order to help reduce poverty in our society.
